Elisabeth was cousins with Mary (Mother of Jesus) who both shared the unique bond of being visited by the angel Gabriel and an unlikely birth. Elisabeth gave birth to John the Baptist at a very old age and Mary being a virgin gave birth to Jesus Christ.
