Reflection of Colossians 1:15-23 The Supremacy of the Son of God

Reflection of Colossians 1:15-23 The Supremacy of the Son of God

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of[g] your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation — 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Reflection
This is a powerful scripture. There is no one that has ever walked this earth with the authority That Jesus has. He was created in the image of our invisible God. He was the first born of all creation.  The bible says he is before all things. There is nothing that is before him. He will always be first. People of the world tend to put priority on Careers and relationships and things that will not get you to Heaven. Jesus will always be first and keeping him first will cause everything else to fall in line. The bible says in him ALL things are held together. So that can only mean when you take him out of the equation things will fall apart. That significant other that you know is not equally yoked. It is not approving in Gods eyes. He will not hold it together because that is not of his works. That lifestyle you have that you have stubbornly chose ignoring Gods calling for you. It will not work out. It will lead to trouble because he is not there to hold it together. Sure when you come to him for forgiveness or assistance he is going to help because now you have placed him in the midst. There is nothing that he can not do.  There is power in the name of Jesus. He is the firstborn of the dead. He has risen from the dead and  has power and authority over the dead.  Through this merciful act we have been reconciled and now have a chance to be entered in to the Book of Life and enter heavens gates. Thank you Lord for all you do.

Pastor Marvin Winans God has Spoken

God has spoken. Let the church say Amen! Who else do you need to hear from?

Ephesians 6:10-20 The Armor of God

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Ephesians 5:21-33 Instructions for Christian Households

Instructions for Christian Households

21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”[c] 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Reflection of Galatians 2:21

Galatians 2:21

New International Version (NIV)
21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

This is similar today with customs in  some of the churches. A man should be judged by his faith and worship not by his clothes. A sinner in a suit is no more use to God than a Holy man in a T-shirt. Do not be fooled by appearance. Never forget the devil dresses up well but is still satan. satan uses interest of the flesh to attempt to contaminate the spirit. Stand firm in the word of God so you are not led astray.
